The next version of the AeroQuad Shield has been released!  You can see v1.7 here:
http://carancho.com/AeroQuad/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=36

This version has the precision voltage reference circuit fixed.  There are now two resistors that need to be installed into the board (which are included).

R1 = 330 ohm (color bands for that resistor are orange, orange, brown, gold)
R2 = 4.7k ohm (yellow, purple, red, gold)

I don't believe it fits directly onto the shield. If you do manage, you'd have to still jump some wires, but I doubt that is a good idea. Where did you manage to get an IDG300 breakout board by the way, I think they are discontinued.
